Textile and composite materials have a wide range of applications in the field of renewable energy, particularly in complex environments such as the marine environment. From wind turbines to flexible photovoltaics, mooring systems and infrastructure protection, these materials combine lightness, durability and corrosion resistance to meet demanding operating constraints.

This Innovation Workshop is organised by Techtera in partnership with the Tenerrdis, Capenergies and Mer Méditerranée clusters.

The aim is to explore areas of cross-sector work through a series of practical examples. The presentations will highlight collaborative projects illustrating the use of textile and composite materials in the production of renewable energy, particularly in a marine environment.

These testimonials will open the discussion on shared technical challenges: corrosion resistance, mechanical strength, structural weight reduction, durability and maintenance. The workshop will also focus on the specific constraints of the marine environment, the associated characterisation methods, and the funding levers available to support cross-industry innovation. In addition to the technical presentations, this event will provide an opportunity for direct exchanges and co-construction between players in the energy, materials and research sectors.

A dedicated discussion time and a collaborative ideation workshop Together, they will identify new areas for R&D and prepare opportunities for projects involving high-performance materials for energy.

Why take part?

-  To benefit from industrial and scientific feedback on collaborative projects between textiles and energy.
-  For a better understanding of the material challenges facing marine and land-based energy systems.
-  To meet potential partners and identify areas of collaboration for future innovation projects involving high-performance materials.
