COOL AMMETROPOLIS

REDUCING CO2 EMISSIONS AND THE URBAN HEAT ISLAND EFFECT IN THE AIX-MARSEILLE-PROVENCE METROPOLIS AREA

This project proposes different scenarios designed to reduce CO2 emissions and the urban heat island (UHI) in the Aix-Marseille-Provence metropolis area by using an approach that takes into account both atmospheric and societal factors. This is expected to help build strong ties between the scientific community, political decision-makers and the civil society.

The climate plan for the south Provence region and the air-energy-territory climate plan (PCEAT) for the Aix-Marseille-Provence metropolis will benefit from such consolidation, along with the various strategies implemented to adapt to global warming effects in the region.
