MOBILE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR INTERFACE ONBOARD VESSELS

Powering up ships with dock-side green electricity is a key issue in improving the quality of air in ports. This requires ships equipped with the necessary and often costly electrical interfaces needed to do so.

The MOSI project aims at optimising an electrical connector technology to reduce investment costs for ship owners by providing a mobile connector interface that can be paired with any ship. In theory, a system would be installed on-board the docked ship temporarily and any modifications needed to adapt this system could be made quickly before powering up the ship with clean energy.
