NEW APPROACH TO CHEMICAL POWER CONVERTERS THROUGH THE EQUAL-INTERVAL SCALING OF ENTROPY PRODUCTION
The NACREE project sets out to develop a model and design methodology for chemical power converters (chemical reactors and heat exchangers) in order to improve the overall energy efficiency of these systems through irreversible entropy production.
From an operational perspective, this gain in energy efficiency should lead to a reduction in heating/ cooling needs, pumping requirements, reagents, and materials. In the long term, it could provide the foundations for an optimised software tool with numerous applications and significant industrial spin-offs.
