PASS-ION

OPTIMISING THE MANUFACTURING OF SOLAR CELLS WITH PASSIVATING CONTACTS USING ION IMPLANTATION BY PLASMA IMMERSION

The PASS-ION project is looking to overcome the technical obstacles associated with the passivation of cell edges and with using plasma-immersion ion implantation (PIII) to make highly efficient solar cells (TOPCon).

Thanks to the improved efficiency of solar cells and their simplified manufacturing processes, the goal now is to reduce the kWh cost produced by PV systems and to improve the energy performance of solar cell production.
