PROCESSING INORGANIC MATERIAL DURING RESIDUE GASIFICATION

Through the creation of an industrial professorship, the TIGRE project sets out to develop a new model to describe the thermochemistry of industrial gasifiers, chiefly the behaviour of inorganic material during the different phases of the gasification process.
The predictive models to be developed will improve the in-service operation of industrial gasification plants thanks to:
Better understanding of the conditions that cause equipment fouling
Reduced concentration of elements that affect the efficiency of catalysts
Separation of toxic elements contained in the products so they can be conditioned accordingly.
The work is expected to broaden the range of waste likely to be recycled industrially in order to produce energy, and to improve both the efficiency and environmental performance of the processes involved. These processes are certain to develop in line with the growth of renewable synthetic hydrocarbons.
