INNOVATIVE POWER MODULES FOR UNI- AND BIDIRECTIONAL EV CHARGING
To support EV market growth in line with the European Green Deal objectives, the number of public fast charging points must be multiplied by 15 by 2030. Having enough smart, fast-charging points is a key issue if Europe intends to:
- Adapt EV charging habits to avoid overwhelming power grids during peak-demand periods (V1G)
- Exploit EV batteries for electricity storage, i.e. vehicle-to-grid (V2G).
The Uncaged project is developing a new generation of power units for smart fast charging either in uni- or bidirectional mode (V1G and V2G), which can be integrated into the charging stations or installed on board EVs.
