The Capenergies competitiveness cluster selected for the European EMILIE project
The European Commission has selected the Capenergies competitive cluster and PRIDES1 to spearhead the European EMILIE (Enhancing Mediterranean Initiatives Leading SMEs to Innovation in building Energy efficiency technologies) project in France.Funded by the transnational “MED” cooperation programme, EMILIE aims to foster the emergence of innovative solutions to reduce the consumption of greenhouse gas-emitting energy in tertiary-sector buildings. It is also looking to support growth potential and innovation among SMEs in the energy efficiency sector, with a view to making them more competitive and boosting job growth.
The French pilot site for this project is Lycée Paul Héraud in Gap (Hautes-Alpes), managed by the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur (PACA) Region. The experiment will begin in 2014, with the ultimate aim of reducing the college’s annual energy bill (around €110,000) by 10% by mid-2015.
