MECHANISTIC STUDIES FOR REDUCING C02: INVESTIGATING THE BIODIVERSITY OF CARBON MONOXIDE DEHYDROGENASE

Carbon monoxide dehydrogenases are metalloenzymes that catalyse the reduction of CO2 into CO at high velocities and with small over-voltages. This fundamental research project focuses on understanding the mechanism and the diversity of CO dehydrogenases. Driving the design of specific catalysts for CO2 reduction, these dehydrogenases could be used directly for the conversion of CO2 into fuels.
