Sylvain Brémond, new Deputy Director of Capenergies

30/01/2020 - The Capenergies cluster announces the arrival of Sylvain BRÉMOND as the new Deputy Director. He will take over from Paul LUCCHESE, the current Deputy Director, whose mission is due to end at the end of March. Since the beginning of the year, Sylvain Bremond has been managing Capenergies' team of project engineers, and in particular overseeing the approval process for innovative projects. He will gradually take over responsibility for Europe and International.

Biography - Sylvain BRÉMOND holds a degree in engineering from SUPELEC (1991) and a doctorate in automatic control and signal processing (1995). He began his career at CEA when he joined the team in charge of wave heating systems for the TORE SUPRA experimental fusion reactor. There, he managed several European R&D projects in the field, before becoming head of the control team in 2005 and then, in 2014, of the Reactor Operations Department, renamed WEST after a major project to transform the reactor into a test platform for the international ITER project. For the CEA, he has had numerous responsibilities for supervising programmes/projects, providing expertise and teaching at national, European and international level in the field. Since the end of 2018, he has been in charge of developing CEA's cooperation with the international ITER organisation.
