The H2MOVE project

HYDROGEN FOR GREEN, SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY

objectives

The H2MOVE project addresses the challenge of resilient accessibility by planning strategic actions to reduce the environmental impacts of ports, for the benefit of improved and sustainable territorial continuity. The project aims to support climate neutrality in the cross-border maritime space.

To achieve this, several key actions are being implemented:

  • The definition of a macro-strategy to promote the development of hydrogen (H2) in ports and their peripheral areas.
  • Integration of current and future national initiatives, such as the Italian NRP and France 2030, to create a synergistic framework for all H2-related actions.
  • The establishment of a common governance tool, including a master plan and a membership manifesto, bringing together strategies, action plans and pilot activities to reduce pollutant emissions in port areas.
  • The involvement of research and innovation players, such as universities and green energy centers of excellence, to provide scientific support for the project. These partners will play a key role in analyzing current technologies and exploring future prospects.

  • Project duration: 3.5 years (2024 to 2027)
  • Budget: 4,2 M€

A project selected as part of the INTERREG EUROMED 2021 - 2027 program.

our role

Capenergies has taken on one of the project's three pilot activities: mapping the cross-border hydrogen (H2) ecosystem to assess the state of development of the sector.

Result of Activity 1.2 of the H2MOVE project: "Segmentation and mapping of the ecosystem", coordinated by Capenergies

The aim of this activity is to identify and map the hydrogen ecosystem in the cooperation area and neighbouring regions, by analysing both supply and demand. The approach covers production sites (according to their technologies and energy sources), companies already or potentially involved in the value chain, consumer and public players, as well as projects and infrastructures under development (hydrogen valleys, transport, distribution, stations, pipelines, etc.).
