📅  Tuesday 19 May, 8.30am to 4pm

📍  Face-to-face - CEREGE lecture theatre (European Centre for Research and Teaching in Environmental Geosciences)
Technopole Environnement Arbois-Méditerranée, Aix-en-Provence.

Despite a difficult context, the hydrogen industry is continuing to develop worldwide, particularly in China, where 1 million tonnes of low-carbon hydrogen will be produced by 2025, but doubts persist as to the ability of companies to implement the energy transition. Regulatory frameworks are being put in place, but their implementation raises questions about their practical application. The issues of energy and industrial sovereignty are emerging, and call for ambitious and pragmatic public policies to guarantee the sustainability of the industry's development trajectories and the reduction of emissions.

The low-carbon hydrogen sector, a lever for energy and industrial sovereignty for a resilient region

The integration of renewable energies and the mastery of the hydrogen value chain represent major challenges for energy and economic sovereignty. By combining a global approach to the challenges of the transition with targeted expertise in high-potential industrial uses, a well-structured regional hydrogen economy can not only contribute to local energy security, but also position the Region as a key player, in control of its sustainable and competitive development. Come and discuss the levers of this dual mastery.
