SIMULATIONS WITH HIGH-ORDER SCHEMES OF TRANSPORT AND TURBULENCE IN TOKAMAK
Controlling heat extraction is crucial to the success of the ITER nuclear fusion project. Numerical modelling is essential in order to be able to scale up the reactor to simulate the performance of the thermonuclear plasma and guarantee the preservation of its wall elements.
The SISTEM project aims to develop a new generation of algorithms based on a hierarchy of models of varying complexity, and innovative numerical methods to increase predictive capabilities under ITER operational conditions.
