HEXANA

SOVEREIGN PRODUCTION OF LOW-CARBON ENERGY FOR HEAVY INDUSTRY AND LONG-DISTANCE TRANSPORT

The HEXANA project aims to design an innovative modular sodium-cooled fast neutron reactor based on mature technology developed by CEA, EDF and FRAMATOME.
The proposed 800 MWth reactor will be combined with an energy storage system to optimally supply process heat (500°C) and controllable electricity as an alternative to gas. The project will also enable the closure of the nuclear fuel cycle, with the aim of achieving sustainable energy and industrial sovereignty.
