80 professionals attended the digital Smart City & Territory Innovation Day event on 12 November.
A resounding success for this event dedicated to sharing local initiatives and showcasing the innovations of regional businesses, at the crossroads of data and resource management for more intelligent territories.
Thanks to digital technologies, Smart Cities and Smart Territories aim to transform networks and services by optimising energy and environmental resources, for the benefit of residents, businesses and local authorities.
This is a major challenge in this unprecedented context of economic recovery, which requires ". decompartmentalising the Energy and Digital sectors, to create new synergies and value through the data nexus "As Raphaël Rinaldi, Director of Innovation and Deployment of Optimised Energy Systems at the Capenergies cluster, reminded us in his introduction.
For Stéphanie Schohn, Ecosystem & Animation Director at SCS: " SCS members represent a breeding ground for innovative digital applications, and the challenge is to make the best use of this potential by sharing information and therefore data for efficient and resilient territories. "
In summary, 4 highlights:
Testimonials: Data sharing and collaborative innovation for smart regionsigents
- A real testing groundNice Côte d'Azur Metropolitan Area makes it a point of honour to encourage the sharing of data between public and private players. According to Alain CHATEAU, Head of the Centre of Excellence and Smart City Project Director at Métropole Nice Côte d'Azur: " Territorial data, at the heart of partnership innovation, must be considered as a heritage asset. ". By making the region's resources available to academic and industrial partners, providing support for business services and involving citizens, new services are being created.
IMREDD (Institut Méditerranéen du Risque, de l'Environnement et du Développement Durable - Mediterranean Institute for Risk, Environment and Sustainable Development), is actively contributing to this dynamic by bringing together researchers, businesses and local authorities to develop the intelligent city of tomorrow.
- In metropolitan France of Aix-Marseille-Provence, The "Smart Tech and Smart Territory" department is also working to bring together prime contractors and companies offering solutions, through the new Innovation Platform. This tool is positioned upstream of and complementary to public procurement; several Calls for Innovation have already been published.
At regional level, There are 2 specific schemes set up by the SUD Region's Smart Region Service:
- Le South Smart Territories pathwayThis is one of the ways in which the European Union is helping to boost business activity and increase local resilience,
- La Data Sud regional platform which hosts open and geographic data for the production of innovative digital services. By early 2021, the deliverables from the Sud Smart Territoires pathway will be available there.
Round Table: Data management: New skills at the heart of water and energy operators' projects
ENEDIS Côte d'Azur, Société du Canal de Provence, Société Monégasque de l'Electricité et du Gaz (SMEG) and WIT will all be taking part in an unprecedented round table discussion, highlighted the key role of data in driving innovation in their current and future projects. Smart building, smart water, consumption analysis... all these technologies rely on optimal data processing, which requires specific skills, not only in the business, but also in digital infrastructure, data science and cyber security.
