More than 60 participants, including a majority of representatives from local authorities in the South Region and Corsica, took part on 30 March 2021 in the webinar dedicated to Hydrogen solutions for mobility, organised by Capenergies with the support of the South Region.
Most of the participants are already involved in a current or future mobility project involving hydrogen. This meeting, designed as a " communities talking to communities "The event provided an opportunity to share benchmarks in terms of project set-up and operational implementation, with a view to supporting the implementation of these future initiatives in the Southern Region and Corsica.
Participants were able to learn from the experience of the Syndicat Mixte des Transports Artois-Gohelle, which has introduced the 1era Hydrogen-powered bus service in France, and the Communauté de communes de la Vallée de l'Indre, which is preparing to launch the 1era Hydrogen-powered refuse collection vehicles from France.
Numerous questions on the cost and financing of projects, the range of vehicles on offer, regulations and the operation of infrastructures fuelled the discussions, confirming Hydrogen as the vector of choice for local authorities in the decarbonisation of public transport.
