PRESS RELEASE
Roland Lescure, Minister attached to the Minister for the Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty, with responsibility for Industry, has announced the accreditation of 55 competitiveness clusters, including Capenergies, for the period 2023-2026.
He emphasised the extremely positive results achieved by the competitiveness clusters and congratulated their teams and members, the spearheads of France's innovation policy. He insisted on the urgent need for green reindustrialisation, an essential condition for maintaining and developing industry in France.
29 March 2023 - The
Capenergies leads an ecosystem of more than 530 members to date, made up of small and large companies, research laboratories, training organisations, funders, local authorities and regions, to encourage and support the emergence and development of innovation projects to promote energy transition and economic competitiveness.
Thanks to the dynamism of all its members
and their involvement in defining Capenergies' strategy
that this renewal was obtained.
Against a backdrop that reminds us just how vital energy is to the economy and a major challenge for decarbonisation, the period ahead should see many projects come to fruition and new solutions emerge, in direct line with 6 of the 10 objectives defined in France 2030 and with the priorities of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur and Corsica Regions, which have supported the cluster since it was set up in 2005 at the instigation of the CEA and EDF, joined since then by the major energy players present in the region.
Energy sobriety and efficiency, the production of hydrogen and decarbonised renewable and nuclear energy, and the development of associated infrastructures and networks to support the decarbonisation of activities will be at the heart of the cluster's efforts to contribute to the country's energy and industrial sovereignty.
The "competitiveness cluster" label: national recognition
The competitiveness clusters have developed original expertise that is recognised in the sectors in which they operate: they support single-supplier or collaborative innovation projects to help them become more robust.
At the end of this support process, a labelling committee made up of independent high-level experts examines the projects to decide whether or not to award them the "competitiveness cluster label", which gives project sponsors recognition for their access to public or private funding. The review of projects is always followed by constructive recommendations based on the experience of the clusters.
The cluster team's excellent knowledge of regional, national and European calls for projects makes it easier to guide project leaders towards those best suited to their needs. Labelled projects are twice as likely to be successful.
The many events organised throughout the year also enable cluster members to develop their networks, with a view to working together on projects or commercial ventures. The meetings organised by the cluster provide a forum for sharing industry watch information, deciphering certain regulations and meeting partners, who can also contribute to proposals at regional, national and even European level.
The entire Capenergies team is delighted and proud to be continuing this extraordinary adventure in the service of companies, local authorities and laboratories that are preparing tomorrow's solutions for a low-carbon, competitive world.
