CONTROLLABILITY OF WELDED PARTS IN CRITICAL EQUIPMENT - VIRTUAL MATERIALS FOR EFFECTIVE CND INSPECTION TOOLS
Welding is a central process in the production of critical components in nuclear reactors. Controlling it is therefore essential to prevent faults occurring during operation. The welds, made up of dozens of passes, are therefore regularly inspected by ultrasonic Non Destructive Testing (NDT).
The ATALANTE project aims to develop virtual grain microstructures associated with welded zones, based on new modelling tools, in order to improve current NDT methods and their application, particularly on thick parts. In addition, Artificial Intelligence tools should help with this prediction, based on new parameters.
This ambitious project includes experiments, digital modelling and industrial applications.
