CALBOUVAL

RESPONSIBLE CALCINATION OF PAPER SLUDGE AND RECOVERY OF THE MINERAL IN CEMENTITIOUS MATERIALS

The project aims to decarbonise the paper recycling process by optimising the calcination of paper sludge, which is generated in large quantities during the manufacturing process.
Recovering this waste should help to reduce the carbon footprint through :
➢ The production of warm, clean air as a substitute for natural gas ;
➢ The production of renewable electricity from this waste heat ;
➢ The use of mineral from the calcination of sludge as a constituent of cementitious materials, playing the role of CO2 storage.
