DEEPSOL

DEVELOPMENTS IN SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC ENERGY EFFICIENCY

CARBON has a plan to build, in France and Europe, a set of integrated gigafactories for competitive, reliable, sustainable, high-efficiency and very low-carbon photovoltaic ingots, wafers, cells and modules, capable of producing 5 GW by 2026 and more than 20 GW by 2030. The first photovoltaic cell and panel production unit is due to open in Fos-sur-Mer by the end of 2025.

By carrying out this large-scale industrial project for the solar industry, CARBON aims to play a part in the sustainable re-industrialisation of France and Europe, and to respond in part to the challenges of economic sovereignty and energy independence.

More specifically, the DEEPSOL project aims to develop and transfer innovative technologies for the production of a low-carbon photovoltaic module with low material impact, on a pilot line and then gigafactory scale.
