HY- F L A M ™

DEVELOPMENT OF AN ULTRA-LOW NOX 100% HYDROGEN BURNER

France's national strategy for decarbonising industry is accelerating the development of new energy carriers, such as hydrogen.
However, direct combustion of hydrogen in industry typically produces 2.2 times more nitrogen oxides (NOx) than combustion of natural gas.
The aim of the Hy-Flam™ project is to develop a range of ultra-low NOx burners that allow hydrogen to be used as the main fuel, while achieving NOx emission levels below those set by regulations in France and the European Union for natural gas.
