HYDROGENOMIC

MICROBIAL INTERACTIONS WITH NATURAL HYDROGEN IN ECOSYSTEMS ASSOCIATED WITH SERPENTINISATION

The ecosystems associated with the serpentinisation reaction, one of the main reactions behind the production of natural hydrogen, are home to intense microbial activity.
The aim of this project is to gain a better understanding of how the micro-organisms in question, potential consumers or producers of hydrogen, interact with the geological process of hydrogen production.
