Improved management of fusion welding processes and control of assembled parts
Using virtual materials, the project proposes a breakthrough in the control and detection of defects encountered during arc welding. It is based on in-situ observation of grain growth and the development of hot cracking. The grain structures and their defects will then be modelled using a multi-physics and multi-scale approach. Validation will be carried out on industrial steels as part of the study of welded parts for the nuclear and automotive industries.
