NEWCAT

NEW CATALYST FOR PHOTOELECTROLYSIS, ELECTROLYSIS AND PHOTOCATALYSIS

The NewCat project involves the development of a new catalyst and aims to demonstrate how it works for the photo-oxidation of water.
This catalyst, consisting of a new alloy deposited on a silicon wafer using an Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) process, offers promising electrochemical performance as an alternative to current photoelectrodes.

Controlling and optimising the performance of the manufacturing process in question, which will be the subject of a thesis, is a major challenge for the development of industrial applications linked to several hydrogen production routes (electrolysis and photoelectrolysis).
