REVELORG

Revealing the mechanisms of photosynthesis acclimatisation through a comparative approach between organisms, from phytoplankton to terrestrial plants

The aim of this fundamental research project is to improve biomass yield by optimising photosynthesis mechanisms. It is based on the discovery of a new APE1 protein involved in the photosynthetic acclimatisation process, whose response is stimulated in situations of high light intensity.

The mechanisms involved in this protein, which is present in all oxygenated photosynthetic organisms, from cyanobacteria to phytoplankton, will be studied in order to gain a better understanding of photosynthetic acclimatisation and thus better control productivity in photobioreactors.
