European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH) - Towards the digital transformation of our territory

7 December 2020 - The "Move2Digital" partnership project has been pre-selected as part of the European Commission's "Digital Europe" programme.

In mid-July 2020, the French government launched a call for expressions of interest to select the French projects authorised to apply for the European Digital Innovation Hub ("EDIH") call. Planned by the European Commission as part of the Digital Europe programmeThe aim of the EDIH is to support and accelerate the digital transformation of local economic players, in particular VSEs and SMEs.

In the SUD Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, EDIH's "Move2Digital" project is an unprecedented initiative that brings together all the universities, schools and research bodies, together with the digital and industrial players, with the shared aim of accelerating the take-up by businesses of technologies linked to Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and connected objects.

Move2Digital draws on the expertise of the project's various partners to facilitate the use and adoption of these technologies by SMEs, VSEs and regional administrations. As a one-stop shop for the region's digital transformation, it offers a range of services tailored to the needs of each organisation: awareness-raising, technology testing, needs assessment, advice and support on existing solutions, funding, collaboration with research laboratories, training and customised development.

Now selected at national level by the Direction Générale des Entreprises, this project has demonstrated its ability to coordinate the main regional players in digital technology and industry around a shared ambition. The selection of this project by the European Commission, expected in the summer of 2021, will be the final essential step before translating this shared ambition into a tangible reality for the benefit of the socio-economic players in the Sud Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region.

As a member of the Move2Digital consortium, the Capenergies cluster is proud to have contributed to the construction of this collective project, which places Digital for competitiveness for all players. It is particularly important for energy companies, because digitalisation is more than ever at the heart of the Energy Transition, in order to :

  • Reduce energy consumption and save money,
  • Better control of the synchronisation of consumption with local renewable energy production (as well as the recharging of electric vehicles),
  • Sharing the production of renewable energy between several players,
  • Better integrate storage solutions, develop flexibility and interconnection in multi-energy systems,
  • Optimising production processes, developing predictive maintenance or developing services and improving the quality of customer relations.

"Move2digital will provide businesses with a one-stop shop offering a comprehensive range of services, backed up by expert support: diagnostic assistance, implementation of solutions, training and dedicated funding.
