More than 80 industry players from all sectors met online on 10 May 2022 to learn more about the mechanisms and tools of "carbon accounting", 1era key stage in defining a decarbonisation strategy.
Measuring our carbon footprint and quantifying our emissions are the key to our success. starting points for defining a decarbonisation strategy that will enable the company to gain in impact and competitiveness, while anticipating regulatory changes. In this respect, the National Low Carbon Strategy sets the target of reducing emissions from industry by 80% by 2050, compared with 2015.
During this webinar organised by Capenergies and the main sectors in the Southern Region, specialists and industrialists came to talk about this approach, which offers opportunities for :
- Reducing dependence on fossil fuels;
- Optimising your energy consumption and save money;
- Improving your employer brandparticularly among the younger generation;
- Gain a competitive edge to promote to its customers.
CARRYING OUT A CARBON FOOTPRINT
IS TO ANTICIPATE IN ORDER TO GAIN IMPACT:

The GHG Balance includes both the reporting of your emissions and a transition plan for taking action: a wide range of resources such as sector guides and funding are available to support every company".

A CONCRETE EXAMPLE:
SAVE ENERGY!
"Following a comprehensive audit of a cheese production plant, the energy-saving solutions implemented have enabled us to reduce electricity bills by 33% and propane dependency by 22%, at an investment cost of €3.3 million, including €2 million in public funding.
Customer feedback from Naldeo - Design office
While the principle is simple, the challenge often lies in choosing the scope of the study: the broader the scope, including "non-energy indirect emissions" such as employee travel, product distribution and end-of-life or subcontracting activities, the more the opportunities for action are varied and significant.
The next step is to identify decarbonisation solutions for the main emission sources (digital, energy, mobility-transport, etc.).
To support companies and manufacturers wishing to embark on this transition, Capenergies will shortly be organising a meeting with suppliers of innovative solutions.
