In a new format combining conferences, workshops, BtoB and a virtual trade fair on the same platform, nearly 300 participants attended the 3th edition of the Energy For Smart Mobility Forumorganised last October by Capenergies and the media GreenUnivers. The event is also part of the programme Flexgrid.
With its intelligent hydrogen-powered ships, the young start-up NepTecha member of the cluster, was one of the 5 winners of the start-up competition held during the Forum.
Officially opened by the French Minister for Transport, Jean-Baptiste Djebarri, the conference brought together a number of industry experts from the transport and energy sectors, as well as representatives from the French, Norwegian and Dutch governments, the European Commission and several European cities.
At the heart of the debate: how can we accelerate the deployment of innovative energy solutions for cleaner, smarter mobility, a key ambition of France and Europe supported by the various stimulus plans?
See you in autumn 2021 for the next edition!

5 key trends to remember from this 3th edition of the Forum :
- Accelerating infrastructure deployment : 100,000 public charging points are to be installed in France by the end of 2021, a plan outlined by the Minister at the opening of the Forum.
- Data gains in value: the massive amount of data available (thanks in particular to the IoT) makes it possible to develop new services and improve existing ones: predictive maintenance, development of energy communities, Vehicle to Grid, optimisation of intermodality, etc.
- The rise of hydrogen : The technology is developing in all areas (heavy transport, rail, maritime). The challenge now is to mass-produce green or blue hydrogen.
- The greening of maritime transport : Responsible for around 2.5 % of global GHG emissions, maritime transport has begun its transition, from the electrification of ships at berth to the design of hydrogen-powered ferries.
- Evolving business models : Operators are testing different formulas to reduce costs and find diversified sources of revenue, such as the use of common platforms between operators, dynamic advertising on vehicles, etc.
