CYANOFLOW

STUDY OF THE LINK BETWEEN PHOTOSYNTHETIC AND RESPIRATORY ELECTRON FLOWS IN CYANOBACTERIA

Cyanobacteria are the only organisms where aerobic respiration and oxygenic photosynthesis take place in the same cell compartment. As such, they represent interesting organisms for the development of biotechnologies that direct the energy of photosynthesis towards the production of high added-value molecules.
The project aims to understand the mechanisms that regulate photosynthetic and respiratory electron transport in cyanobacteria in order to understand how they affect the efficiency of the conversion of light into biomass.
