HYDROGENOMIC

MICROBIAL INTERACTIONS WITH NATURAL HYDROGEN IN ECOSYSTEMS ASSOCIATED WITH SERPENTINISATION

The ecosystems associated with the serpentinisation reaction are home to intense microbial activity. The aim of this project is to gain a better understanding of how these micro-organisms interact with the hydrogen naturally generated by this geological process. This fundamental study is essential for assessing the potential of natural hydrogen emanation sites as sources of renewable energy.
