220 professionals from the transport, logistics and distribution sectors, energy companies, commercial vehicle manufacturers and representatives of local authorities met on 1 January to discuss the latest developments in the field of commercial vehicles.er March around a central question:
How can we successfully implement low-carbon mobility for freight transport in the SUD region?
With a series of round tables, demonstrations and discussion forums, the day's rich programme enabled the many participants to take full measure of the challenges of decarbonising logistics, to talk to manufacturers and users of low-carbon vehicles adapted to freight transport and to find out what's happening in the deployment of energy solutions.
The event demonstrated the range of existing, tried and tested solutions for meeting the demands of logistics chains (electricity, biofuels/biogas, hydrogen), while respecting environmental objectives and the support and training schemes available to accompany this change. It's a fantastic mobilisation of committed players (hauliers, shippers, energy providers, manufacturers) that opens the way to future initiatives for more sustainable logistics in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur!
This event was co-organised as part of the Ateliers Régionaux de la Logistique, by the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region, the DREAL Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, Capenergies and the Marché d'Intérêt National de Chateaurenard, with the support of Proviridis and the Observatoire Régional des Transports.
Below you can find the main points of the day's events, together with the presentation materials.

Electric mobility
Electric mobility is becoming a reality for last-mile logistics. With the arrival on the market of a range of vehicles with greater tonnage and greater range, and the increasing installation of fast charging stations, other use cases can be addressed over longer distances. Various funding schemes, such as calls for projects and leasing solutions, can facilitate access to these heavy-duty electric vehicles. The virtuous solution of retrofitting is also being put forward as a way of reducing vehicle TCO.

- Urby and Movivoltsubsidiaries of La Poste Group are fully committed to electric mobility.
- Le Groupe Bert tests the retrofit solution from Neotrucks for its fleet tractors.

Manufacturer offers (vehicles and recharging stations) :
- Innovative multi-vehicle fast-charging solution from ChargePolyto optimise the cost of hardware and guarantee the availability of fleet recharging for the operator,
- Presentation of the Renault Trucks from LCVs to 16T rigids, with the range set to be extended by 2023.
ESPACE Mobilité Hydrogène
Already used to power forklift trucks on logistics platforms, hydrogen should be a key alternative energy source for decarbonising freight transport. In fact, this energy is proving to be ideal for heavy loads over long distances. The renewable hydrogen sector is taking shape at regional level, with various private players, aided by the public sector, investing in this clean energy to rapidly make freight transport cleaner.

ESPACE Biogas and biofuels
The use of biofuels for goods transport is becoming widespread among professionals, who see them as a solution that is available on the market, easy to implement, suited to logistics uses and part of a circular economy approach. Whether ethanol (grape marc), biodiesel (rapeseed oil), biofuels derived from agricultural waste (biomethane) or from micro-organisms (algae), they all make it possible to limit transport emissions at moderate cost.

REPORT MODAL

Greening vehicle fleets is one of the levers for decarbonising freight transport, but where can you find up-to-date information on alternative energies, the vehicles available and the location of refuelling stations? How can you assess the environmental and economic impacts to make an informed investment decision? Tools exist to help transport professionals make the right decisions.
